However, the top of Honda’s 750 line-up is the retro classic 750 Aero. Under the Arrows classic 14 liter fuel tank you’ll find a liquid-cooled fuel-injected 745 CC long stroke v-twin powerplant that is fed by a single 34 mm throttle body to help maximize combustion of each cylinders.
Handles just fine at those speeds, and has a surprising amount of pep to it for a 750. The wind will toss you around a bit, but I didn't find it to be unbearable. I can't really speak to the comfort part, because the RS is a standard vs the Phantom cruiser setup. IMO a Shadow 750 is about as good as it gets for a starter bike.

Its a good first bike. If your afraid that 600 will not be enough power for you then get a 750 or 800. I believe 750/800cc for a cruiser type bike is a perfect first bike, just like a 600cc is a perfect first bike for a street bike (rice burner). ALSO make sure the bike you buy has handle bar stabilizers, it is an awesome blessing.
84 Honda shadow 700/750 starting problems. So I purchased this bike last year, I wish I could say I got it for a good price. When I hit the starter button absolutely nothing happens, and I mean nothing. No dimming of lights that do work, no click of a starter, just nothing! Shadow 750 is a good beginner bike, can’t go wrong with Honda, but that’s way too much. That’s only a few hundred less than I paid for my 05 vxt1800 and it was in flawless condition. Reply
A Shadow VLX 600 is a great starter bike but will absolutely bore you after you actually learn how to ride. A Shadow 750 is a much better investment. The Shadow Saber 1100 isn't really a starter bike, but you can pull it off. Maintenance is Honda, which means it's dependable and reliable.

07 Shadow Cranks, but won't start - bunch of new parts. I have a 2007 Honda Shadow 750 with around 24k miles on it. I've never had any real issues with it starting other than old gas and a bad battery. This season the bike started fine, I drove it 25 miles and parked it for a month on a tender. It has not started since.
This is a somewhat biased opinion, but I recently purchased a 2007 1100 Spirit after considering the 750. I'm extremely pleased because it is as smooth at 35mph as it is at 85mph. Your bike should "fit" your body; I'm 5'10 and 190lbs, and the 1100 seems a good fit for me. 2007 Shadow Spirit 1100. Be Aware and Get There!
